Another Bridge Of Earn Road Safety Problem
The problem area is the road in Bridge of Earn (Forgandenny Road ?)between Kilgraston Cottages and Heughfield Road. Walking on this road is extremely dangerous, due to fast vehicles, no pavement/path, wall on one side and bend in road obscuring vision of oncoming vehicles.
If the Police agree with me about this road safety hazard to pedestrians, perhaps they could contact Perth & Kinross Council Roads Dept. and encourage the Council to lay a pavement or path before there is a fatality.
Suggestion
A pavement or path were to be laid.
Police Response: Re: Another Bridge Of Earn Road Safety Problem
Thanks for your post.
It is my own personal opinion that there is a potential road safety issue with pedestrains walking on the road in the area you have mentioned given that the road has a 60 mph speed limit until just before Heughfield Road.
However I do feel that this is already a fairly narrow stretch of road and I don't know how feasible it would be to locate a pavement on the road. Possibly an extension of the 30 mph speed limit to beyond Kilgraston Cottages might be a better solution to the problem.
Can I suggest that you take up the matter with P&K Roads Department, your local Councillor and the local Community Council.

Comment: Re: Another Bridge Of Earn Road Safety Problem
Bridge of Earn is currently undergoing a PLACECHECK initiative funded by P&KC and a proposal for a footpath along this strech of road, inside the field beside the hedge was proposed but did not gain enough support. This is part of a well used walk from Kintillo, over the railway bridge into BoE
